Commonly Asked Questions & Answers

Who can benefit from Physical Therapy

Physical therapy can help people with both acute and chronic conditions of all ages. Physical therapy is not just for individuals who have had a specific injury or surgery. Some of our patients suffer from chronic aches and pains without ever having had a traumatic injury. Contact us to see if we can help you at Comprehensive Orthopedic Physical Therapy.

How long will my Initial Evaluation take?

Plan on your first and subsequent visits taking approximately 60 minutes.

What do I need to do to prepare for my first visit?

Once you have scheduled your first visit, our staff will send you the new patient paperwork. Please print and fill out the forms prior to your appointment. You will also need to bring your insurance card(s), photo ID and the prescription from your doctor (if applicable). Please refer to “Preparing for Your First Visit” under the Patient Corner tab for more information.

How often will I need to come to Physical Therapy?

Your therapy schedule will be based on the recommendation of your physical therapist. The average frequency is 2-3 times per week. Overall duration varies widely and will depend on many factors, such as the severity of your symptoms or dysfunction and your treatment goals.

What happens if I change insurance carriers during my course of therapy?

Please let the front office know as soon as possible if your insurance carrier will be changing. Failure to inform the office may result in lack of insurance coverage for those visits and will ultimately become your financial responsibility.
